2-DAY EPA/AHERA/OSHA ASBESTOS OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE INITIAL
Course Description:
This 16-hour asbestos program is designed for those individuals whose job related duties are most likely to expose them to asbestos. The objective of this 2-day course is to familiarize maintenance workers with the hazards of asbestos, the applications in which asbestos is likely to be found, the regulations governing asbestos abatement and is inspection activities and the principles and implementation of an in-place management program. Upon successful completion of this program, each student will receive a Certificate of Completion. (Complies with EPA/AHERA training requirements as well as OSHA 29 CFR 1926.1101, Class III activities)
Course Topics Include: Health Effects, Current Federal, State and Local Regulations, Personal Protective Equipment, History of Use, Various Abatement Procedures, Waste Disposal, In-Place Management Program

Maintenance supervisors and personnel, public housing officials, building and property owners, environmental/health consultants, building/facility managers, Buildings & Grounds school staff.
