Course Description:

Experienced planners and designers will guide students through a workshop which will provide participants with the framework that is needed to develop lead-based paint abatement specifications and drawings for removal projects according to Federal, State and local regulations as well as the HUD guidelines. This course will provide the design professional with the necessary information to interact with abatement contractors, inspectors and other officials and become familiar with the multi-faceted approach to lead paint project design.

Course Topics Include: Interpretation of Inspection Report Data, Federal, State and Local Regulatory Requirements, Abatement Strategies, Safety and Health Issues on Abatement Sites, Lead Testing Methods and Analysis, Engineering Controls, Cost Estimating, and In-place Management and Controls
