Renewing Certifications Online with NAETI

June 24, 2022 9:04 am

NAETI is the home for all your training and certification needs. NAETI offers more than 60 beginner and recertification courses in both in-person and online formats. After an initial training course with us, our online courses are a convenient way to ensure your lead, asbestos and mold certifications are up to date.

What Courses Are Held Online?

All renewal and refresher courses, such as a Lead Inspector Risk Assessor Refresher, are now held online. For example, if a person’s two-year lead certification is expiring, they can take one of NAETI’s online courses to renew their certification when it’s convenient for them. Our online courses remove the time-consuming nature of in-person training and commuting during your already-busy day. NAETI’s online classes keep your certifications up to date allowing you to spend more time to putting that certification to use on the job.  All Initial certification courses are held in-person at one of our location centers to account for the required hands-on training.

What To Know About Taking An Online Course:

Once you’ve registered for your online course you’ll need a computer or device with a working microphone and webcam.  If you do not have a working device, we suggest getting in touch with your employer ahead of time to ensure you have everything you need to take the class.

It’s also a good idea to download Zoom ahead of time to avoid delays.

Please note: these online courses are monitored by the state and other regulatory agencies to ensure students are receiving proper training. We suggest that you take the course in a quiet environment that is free from distractions, not a job site where Internet access may be spotty. If you fail to meet these basic requirements of the state or regulatory agency you will not be allowed to take the course that day and will have to reschedule. There may be an exam at the end of the class to complete your recertification, which is why a quiet environment is recommended.

The training coordinator will send an email 48 hours prior to the start date with vital information for your course. Please be sure to make note of the Start Time and Date as well as the meeting link for the online course. Please Note: This is a separate email from your confirmation notice that you receive when you first register for an online course.

Do not be alarmed if you are not allowed to join the Zoom meeting until the online refreshers class’s start time. For example, many classes begin at 8:30 AM and will not let students enter the meeting earlier than the stated time.

Once the class is finished and it’s time to take the online exam, the training coordinator will send out the exam link within the Zoom application. All tests will be immediately graded a “pass” or “fail”. When you pass the exam, you will be sent the necessary certification and other paperwork from NAETI to complete your application with the appropriate licensing agency.

Individuals that do not pass will have the option to retake the exam immediately, or reschedule another time to retake the exam. If you do happen to fail an exam multiple times, we suggest you reach out to your NAETI instructor to go over any remaining questions you may have about the course materials and reschedule your exam as soon as possible.
